Day after day and without euphoria, Partizan squad is getting ready for Viktoria Plzen tie with clear desire and motivation.
Partizan website caught up with midfielder Marko Jankovic ahead of Thursday`s El encounter.
− We are not euphoric. Squad trained well and we keep working ahead of Thursday`s game calmly but our hearts beat for this one! We are not arrogant – we want our humbleness to lead us to as better result as possible, says Jankovic.
Partizan won the double last season and qualified for EL knockout stage after 12 years, but that`s all in the past now – it`s Viktoria Plzen that matters.
− We achieved a great success but Partizan always asks more from you. Even when you achieve the unexpected you have to cross that line too, to get on a higher level. Everyone expects us to eliminate Viktoria and they are extremely good side although not a big European name.
Viktoria Plzen played some strange friendlies over winter preps, winning or losing 5-1 among other results. Partizan played couple of sides from Central European region to get ready for the Czech.
− Teams from Central Europe play similar football, all with same aggression. We have to be aggressive to and to impose our game too.
Is there any lack of motivation after double crown and lots of European games played?
− We`ll be out there after winter break and in front of packed stands against the team we can surely win. So, there`s no need for any special motivation. Full stands will push us forward. I hope there`ll be no single incident as that may prove costly in the future. We need to be all as one all the way through and we`ll make sure to give our best.
