Aleksandar Scekic: Important games coming up

As we enter international break, Partizan players not away on international duty have time off until Wednesday.

Montenegro international Aleksandar Scekic scored last weekend`s winner for Partizan before departing to Podgorica for his share of international duty. We spoke to this 28-year old defensive midfielder earlier in the week.

-I don`t like to be singled out. It doesn`t matter he scores as long as we win. Please don`t…As for the game itself, we had a couple of poor results and after going down a bit we are back on the right path at the right moment, our confidence is building up. I think this is the right time to pick up as we have possibly most important games of the year ahead of us.

Partizan fans wish now you were able to play recent Eternal derby game.

-I feel sad when I miss any game, not to mention Eternal derby. It was such an injury I couldn`t play even with painkilling injections as it was all swollen. I supported my teammates from the stands and it was hard to watch it sidelined.

You are away on international duty with Montenegro along with your Partizan teammate Vujacic.

-We have two more games, hoping to win but it`s not all on us really. If we get lucky and Luxembourg drops some points, we`ll be top of the group. I`d like that very much.

Scekic`s Montenegro is playing friendly against Kazakhstan on Wednesday followed by neutral ground (Zapresic, Croatia) League of Nations match against Azerbaijan on Saturday and next Tuesday`s match-up versus Cyprus in Podgorica.
