Aleksandar Scekic struck a deal with Polish outfit Zaglebie Lubin officially.
He arrived to Partizan in 2016 after being spotted in Montenegro national team by former Partizan coach Zoran Mirkovic.
After three-and-a-half years spent at the club, 30-year-old defensive midfielder said goodbye to his teammates and Partizan coaching staff.
“I spent three-and-a-half wonderful years at the club and I`m sure it will be the most beautiful part of my career, something to cherish for the rest of my days. Making a decision to leave was far from easy as we all really feel at home here. I have friends for life here, people I spent time with on and off the pitch. I have best memories of my time here, even looking back at some tough moments. Wearing Partizan shirt is never easy but it`s always beautiful”, said Scekic.
“People from Zaglebie wanted me so much, they were persistent to sign me and I finally made a decision to leave. Simply, you have to make peace with yourself and move on”.
Scekic looked back on his time at Partizan.
“Surely, it was toughest once I arrived but with help of the boys and people from the club I adapted in no time. Winning domestic cup was the best moment along with qualifying for Europa League and Conference League group stage. I would also underline 2-0 Eternal derby win and a game against Malatya. Looking back, there`s so many memories”.
30-year-old Scekic will join his new team`s winter preps, staged at Belek near Partizan camp.
“Yes, I`ll be in Turkey but Polish championship restarts earlier than Serbian but I`ll walk over to see you while there. I believe Partizan can progress to the next round of Conference League against Sparta Prague and my greatest desire related to Partizan is a for the club to win a double. Also, I hope everything will be alright with me at my new club”, said Aleksandar Scekic.
