Aleksandar Stanojevic after the Santa Clara game

Partizan boss Aleksandar Stanojevic shared his impressions after his charges secured Conference League group stage with a 2-0 win over Santa Clara.

“I said before the game – we have incredible supporters. You were able to see how they pushed us forward over the first 15 minutes of the game and how they were behind us all the way through, especially in the last five minutes of the game. I can`t recall such energy since I`m here.

I`d like to praise my players for their faith, focus and desire. Everything was on a good level. I`d also like to praise them for the responsibility they showed, as they were aware what this win would mean for all of us.

Santa Clara imposed themselves in the first leg. You can`t go away to Azores and win it 3-0 just like that. Today, we were more wrenching, scored timely goals but you could see Santa Clara can hurt you at any given moment.

You know what kind of pressure is to work at Partizan, you need to have results. We had tough Conference League qualifiers and this certainly helps lowering the pressure a bit. Now, we have new goals and more motivation to make another step forward”, said Aleksandar Stanojevic.
