FK Partizan was visited today by Bojan Velickovic, first Serbian UFC fighter, now part of first MMA league in the world – Professional Fighters League.
– I`ve been part of MMA since 2010. I heard about this competition from my friends, all very successful fighters. Previously, I was into kickboxing for 2 or 3 years. What dragged me to this sport is involvement of other martial arts, my favourite being Jujutsu. I learned a lot about wrestling too, but Jujutsu – meaning gentle discipline – mental speed and focus are what I like the most, says Velickovic.
He is Novi Sad born and trained football as a kid in Vojvodina, Novi Sad and Kabel. But, Velickovic admits his mother influenced his love for Partizan.
– My mother adores Partizan, When she was with me in States recently, she watched every single Partizan game on TV, being it football, basketball or handball.
Partizan. Velickovic visited Partizan Teleoptik Sports Centre and met with players and club employees.
– I`m extremely honoured to be here and I`m able to see now why this sports centre is among the best in Europe. I`m particularly glad I met Partizan players. Partizan lives as a true family here, from kit-man, physios and personnel who maintains this centre. There are great working and living conditions here. All players are great but I`d like to mention Sasa Zdjelar who posted part of my interview on Instagram where this whole idea of me coming here came from. Danilo Pantic also watches my MMA fights in States and I would also like to mention goalkeeper Stojkovic for his strong character.
