Partizan squad continues with pre-season training in Slovenia boosted by the international duty return of centre-backs Vujacic and Sanicanin.
Moreover, newcomer Andrade did his first training session with the team while Danilo Pantic is back to individual training after four months on the sidelines due to an ACL injury.
We spoke to 25-year-old midfielder expected to be back to full action in a space of couple of months.
“When you look back on the previous season we didn`t deserve to finish it with no trophies won. You have to play the whole season on a high, there`s no time for any kind of rest, you just can`t drop any points, that`s kind of league it is. Crvena Zvezda won it with 100 points, it means you have to win more than hundred to win the title. We try to enter each game fully prepared, not to allow any mistakes but it`s natural mistakes to happen sometimes.
Season starts early, fixture list is congested and there`ll be injuries and problems occur as a result of it. You can`t have 12 to 15 players to get you through the season in three competitions. I`m not sure if we were not good enough or not lucky enough to win a trophy last season but new season is the new opportunity for us.
It`s always hard when you are not on the pitch but after the surgery you don`t really think about playing, you just want to walk normal, without crutches. Later on you get a big desire to return to football game but you can`t rush things until everything heals. At times, I spent all day in the gym to strengthen my knee and you do have fears about it, no one wants to go through this again. I trust people I work on recovery with and I`m not playing smart guy”, said Danilo Pantic.
