After two years spent at Partizan, 95 apps, 21 goals and 8 assists later, Djordje Ivanovic is close to sign for Slovenians Olimpija. 24-year old winger is supposed to travel to Slovenian capital Ljubljana today and close the deal.
Ivanovic visited Partizan training camp today to meet his teammates for one last time and spoke to Partizan website on his departure:
-I saw my teammates this morning and it wasn`t easy for me, to be honest. I spent two-and-a-half years at Partizan and I shared all the good and bad things with these lads. Many of them became close friends of mine and although this is just a football farewell, it does hurt, said Ivanovic.
-I remember arriving here, it was a completely different world for me. We all think we are ready for a move to big club when we achieve success but once you get here, once you step on the green of Partizan ground, you clearly see this is another football dimension. These lads were with me from the day one and when I had doubts, they were always reassuring me.
-I had lots of nice moments here, our banter, travels, coffees and chats….We were truly one big family. I remember scoring five goals in a cup tie, we joked for days about it. Actually, I was top cup goalscorer that season.
-I wish Partizan domestic title and to qualify for EL group stage. They are capable of doing it. It`s just a matter of time when everything will work out I Partizan`s favour!
-I`d also like to thank everyone at the club, people at our sports centre who are with us 24/7. This was one of the best episodes of my life! Thanks to the fans as well. Never forget Partizan is above all else!
FK Partizan would like to thank Djordje Ivanovic for his time at the club and to wish him all the best in his future career.
