Partizan EL play-off stage opponents Besiktas staged official pre-match training at Partizan ground with head coach Senol Gunes and defender Domagoj Vida attenting press-conference earlier on:
– Serbian football had its trademark style and produces a lot of good players meaning we are going to play against a team with significant fame and quality able to play attacking game. It will be tough match for us but we want to play well and win. Babel and Lens are not available as well as suspended Negredo and that`s a handicap for our team. We also have players who joined us late. Therefore, it won`t be easy but we`ll enter this game with positive energy and do our best to return to Istanbul with positive result, said Senol Gunes.
M-We know all about Partizan and they know all about us. Over the years, lots of Serbian footballers played in Turkey including Partizan boss Zoran Mirkovic. It`s going to be important how you start the game and info given to the players before the kick-off will mean a lot too. We are tired as we played three games last week but although we respect Partizan we are hoping to win this match.
I also know Partizan fans applauded former Besiktas coach Slaven Bilic last time around which was quite fair-play from them.
– I played here last season as Dynamo Kyiv player and it was a quite good memory as we won it. I hope for more of the same this time around. It will be hard as Partizan reached play-off stage with relative ease but we are here to win.
