Partizan’s players were defeated in the derby match of the 14th round of the Mozzart Bet SuperLiga at Banovo Brdo by Cukaricki – 1:4 (0:2).
Very early on, in the 7th minute, coach Srdjan Blagojevic’s team fell behind after Bojica Nikcevic found the net, albeit with a lot of luck. The home side’s player struck the ball from about twenty meters out, it deflected off Nikola Simic, changed direction, and deceived Partizan’s goalkeeper Marko Milosevic.
That moment largely determined the course of the match, especially after Slobodan Tedic doubled Cukaricki’s lead from the penalty spot in the 29th minute.
The head coach admitted that his team “threw away” the first half, while in the second half they were much better, practically pinning the opposing players into their own half. However, only Ibrahim Zubairu’s attempt in the 56th minute found the target and brought some uncertainty back into the match.
Despite having possession and territorial advantage, the players in burgundy-blue did not manage to create many clear chances, and the hosts punished them with two counterattack goals late in the match to secure a convincing victory.
