Marc Valiente on upcoming derby game

Marc Valiente is Partizan regular ever since his arrival to the club. Spanish centre-back who graduated from Barcelona youths already played Eternal derby game so we spoke to him about upcoming big fixture:

-Our aim in each and every game is to play to the top of our abilities and to continue with good performances. I hope for more of the same in a derby match. We are awaiting this fixture in a calm and composed fashion, says Valiente.

Partizan kept clean sheet for a five games in a row.

-We have good defence, that`s our strength. But, derby is not just any game and we need to be focused in all departments all the way. The whole team works on defensive duties and I hope we`ll keep doing it.

Your centre-back colleague Markovic had a knee surgery and will be sidelined for some time.

-It`s a shame. I wish him a fast comeback. But, Pavlovic proved great aginast Proleter and whoever boss picks up to play that centre-back position will be up to the challenge.

What needs to be particularly looked at when it comes to big derby game?

-It`s about details if we want to win it. I watched several Crvena Zvezda games, they play well especially at home. But, it`s important we play our game the way we know it.

Ricardo scored in a previous derby meeting.

-We are a team and this game is special. We are always happy when Ricardo scores and we will be very pleased whoever scores in a derby game or any match. What matters is positive outcome and football game. Let the better side win.

Will any of your friends attend derby game?

-No, they are all busy but they`ll follow it via internet. I`ve been asked many times to compare Eternal derby with Spanish one and I`d say this one is more about heart and spirit but Spanish derby is the one whole world watches.
