Partizan keeper Nemanja Stevanovic turned out a hero in a Partizan 2-1 win away to Spartak after saving a penalty-kick in injury time. We spoke to this 28-year old after the game:
-It was a very important game for us as we had troubles caused by injuries and Covid-19. But, we showed character and team spirit in these hard times and deserved to win eventually – said Stevanovic.
-As for the penalty save..I did analysis with keeper`s coach Jovsic prior to the game and that helped a lot. I have my rituals and ways regarding penalty saves but let`s keeper it a secret. I was convinced of making a save.
-Any save I make is my favourite. I try to lead the team and to make as less saves as possible.Of course, all teammates congratulated me on a save, they are there for me and I`m thankful to all of them. I paid them back with a penalty save. I received a lot of calls from family, friends and Partizan fans.
I think we gained our confidence back with this win over Spartak. Time is on our side. I`m sure we`ll be better and win more games with time.
-I`ll spend international break with my wife, she`s my greatest support. She was with me when times were tough and this penalty save is dedicated to her. I`ll visit my family in Zvornik and Trsic as well, I want to see my mum, cousins and friends.
