Former Partizan players Ilija Lukic died at age of 75.

Lukic was born on 21th of December 1942 in Belgrade. He started his career at Zeleznik youths and signed to Pristina in 1961. He moved to Partizan summer 1966, making 27 appearances and scoring 24 goals.

As this was the time of famous Partizan Babies, Lukic found it hard to become a regular so he soon moved to States and Oakland Klippers, winning first ever North American professional league title. Lukic returned to Europe to play for Dutch outfit Heracles followed by summer of 1969 move to Rennes where he won national cup honours in 1971. Later in his career, Lukic player for French side Rouen and Austrians Linz.

Upon hanging his boots in 1977, he started his coaching career that spread over three continents and 13 clubs in total. Lukic achieved his best coaching success in Saudi Arabia and UAE. He graduated at Belgrade`s coaching school and San Francisco University.
