Josip Pirmajer, former Partizan players and member of Partizan team that reached CC final in 1966, died at the age 75 today.
He started his career at RFK Novi sad in 1961 followed by a move to Partizan in 1963.
Pirmajer made 261 appearances for Partizan and scored 89 goals. Playing as a left winger, he won domestic title with Partizan in 1965. Next season, on the way to CC final, Pirmajer played all 9 games on the way to Brussels final scoring one goal in that famous campaign – against Werder Bremen in Belgrade.
In summer 1968, Pirmajer moved to Vojvodina followed by a 1972 move to Nimes Olympique and return to Novi Sad in 1975. He hanged his boots in 1977. Pirmajer also made 4 appearances for Yugoslav national team.
During the full length of his career, Pirmajer was never booked.
As a coach, Pirmajer managed Novi Sad Vojvodina, Becej, Sileks, Elan and Beograd.
