Partizan lost Serbian Cup final 2-1 to bitter rivals and finished the season with no trophy won.
We spoke to Partizan players Sasa Zdjelar, Nemanja Stevanovic and Sinisa Sanicanin after the match.
“We had full control of the game but two things happened – one great shot and one counter-attack after our blunder. We played well but we failed to win the trophy to our regret. I congratulate our rivals on this season, on everything they won. We have to see what we need to do in the future, things have to change for sure”, said holding midfielder Sasa Zdjelar.
“It`s really hard to say anything. We did our best and I think we were a better side. I saw how we concede and we didn`t deserve this but that`s football, that`s life, we have to keep our heads high. I really don`t know what to say, it`s really hard on all of us but we are Partizan, we have to pick up and do even better next season as it seems your hundred percent is not enough for a title or a cup trophy, we have to be two hundred percent out there”, said goalie Nemanja Stevanovic.
“We proved a better side but it obviously wasn`t enough. I think we were unlucky to lose today and we are all in massive grief now. We wanted to get a win, to get our hands on the trophy, we played as such but it didn`t happen unfortunately”, said centre-back Sinisa Sanicanin.
