Zoran Tosic: We have to move forward

Partizan is away to Radnicki Nis on Saturday as part of SSL round 25 fixtures.

Meanwhile, attacking midfielder Zoran Tosic talks to Partizan website about Europa League, SSL and title battle.

– As a Partizan player and professional I always expect best results and anything bad makes me extremely disappointed. This goes for Europa League too although we achieved a big success qualifying for last 32 stage. It`s a shame we couldn`t eliminate Viktoria as it looked like we could have done it. We beat some good teams on the way to last 32 stage and it says enough about our quality. But, we need to remind ourselves that Viktoria Plzen is EL and CL regular, a champion of Czech Republic and lots of their players are part of this team for more than seven years, says Tosic.

Any domestic game played after European encounters proves tough, like the one against Zemun did last time around.

– After Europe`s games, we regularly have a problem domestically, we can`t score early or play well. Unfortunately, as the game progress we have a problem and can`t break the opponent while opposition pulls back and closes all the paths towards the net. It`s hard for us now but we have to keep working and not to despair as there are lots of important matches ahead of us. That`s how it is and we have to pick up, look forward and try to be better and more efficient.

What is it that this team needs to change to be better?

– As an attacking player I can say that we have to cooperate more in the attack, to create more opportunities, to be more dangerous and lethal. We have to work on that and bring back trademark Partizan style. At home, we have to impose our pace, never to allow opponents to have their say. We also need more aggression and winning desire, we cannot start playing only after we conceded a goal. Let`s fix all that in the future.

Partizan is still battling for two trophies, domestic championship and cup, starting with Radnicki away.

– Since my return to Partizan I didn`t play in Nis yet. I remember Partizan secured last season`s title in Nis, it was a game to remember. This season, I scored a goal against Radnicki and I wouldn`t mid doing it again. It will be a tough game and we need to get ready for it and change everything I mentioned earlier on.
