Partizan beat Slovenian Cup winners Aluminij
Partizan played their second pre-season friendly against Slovenian Cup winners Aluminij, with the black-and-whites claiming a 2:1 victory. Erik Kojzek and Marko Lekić were on target for Partizan.
The atmosphere at Aluminij's stadium in Kidričevo, home of the popular "Foresters," was excellent, with around one hundred Partizan supporters gathering to cheer on the young black-and-white squad. The match also carried special significance for the hosts, as it served as their final warm-up ahead of the UEFA Europa League qualifiers.
From the opening whistle, however, Partizan made it clear that this would be a very different match from their previous outing. Trifunović produced an excellent run down the left wing, beat his marker, and created the advantage before being brought down in the penalty area. The referee pointed to the spot, and Kojzek confidently converted the penalty.
Both teams created chances after the break, with the hosts showing on several occasions why they had qualified for the Europa League qualifiers. They eventually found an equalizer in the second half, but Partizan were not discouraged. Taking advantage of a defensive mistake, the black-and-whites regained the lead, with Marko Lekić rounding the Aluminij goalkeeper before calmly finding the net.
