Partizan secured a 3:1 victory away to Mačva in the second round of the Mozzart Bet Serbian SuperLiga.
Although the win was sealed only in the closing stages, the three points deservedly went back to Belgrade. Saša Ilić's side controlled the game throughout, constantly putting pressure on the hosts despite the extremely poor pitch conditions, which made it difficult to keep possession and forced both teams to rely largely on long balls.
Ibrahim Zubairu opened the scoring in the 10th minute with a superb strike into the far corner. When Mačva's Milan Vidakov was shown a straight red card in the 56th minute for a foul on Brazilian forward Že, it appeared that Partizan were on course for a comfortable victory. However, the match proved far from straightforward.
The hosts refused to give in and equalised just three minutes later before retreating deep into their own half and focusing almost exclusively on defending. Partizan continued to push forward, while head coach Saša Ilić looked to increase the tempo with several substitutions.
The changes proved decisive, with the substitutes making a significant impact. Erik Kojzek was the standout performer off the bench, providing two assists. He first set up Demba Seck for Partizan's second goal before the Senegalese winger was sent off in stoppage time following an altercation with Mačva players. Kojzek then delivered another assist for Traore, who sealed the victory with Partizan's third goal in the final minute of the match.
