Partizan secured their place in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League after defeating UNA Strassen 1-0 away from home, following last week's convincing 4-0 victory in Belgrade. The Black-and-Whites now set up a two-legged tie against Kazakhstan's Tobol, who will visit Belgrade next Thursday.
The first leg clearly demonstrated the gap in quality between the two teams, allowing Partizan to approach the return fixture with confidence. Head coach Saša Ilić rotated his squad, and his players did exactly what was needed to claim another victory while adding valuable UEFA coefficient points for both the club and Serbia.
The winning goal arrived in the 49th minute when Bogdan Kostić started the move before making an excellent run into the penalty area to finish Stefan Petrović's assist.
Despite controlling possession and creating several more chances, Partizan could not extend their lead. The best opportunity fell to Stefan Milić, who was played through by Demba Seck but fired straight at the home goalkeeper in a one-on-one situation.
Partizan now turn their attention to Sunday's Mozzart Bet SuperLiga match against IMT, which will be their first home league fixture of the new season. After that, the Black-and-Whites will host Tobol on August 6 in the first leg of the UEFA Conference League third qualifying round.
