Partizan defeated Getafe 2:1 (0:0) in the second leg of the Conference League playoff, but the 3:1 defeat in Spain meant that the Black-and-Whites were eliminated from Europe this season.

Neither the 28,247 fans in attendance at the Partizan Stadium in Humska, nor the millions who watched the match on television, could fault Saša Ilić's players. Not after the 90 minutes in Belgrade, and certainly not over the two legs against the Spanish side. In both matches against the La Liga team, Partizan showed much more than their opponents, had more possession, created far more dangerous chances and were only denied by a lack of luck.

The Madrid-based side threatened Miloš Krunić's goal only once during the match, and that effort ended up in the back of the net. Meanwhile, the Black-and-Whites continually created chances inside the Spanish team's penalty area.

Stefan Milić initially found the net in the 27th minute, but the goal was ruled out for a marginal offside. Before that, Demba Seck had hit the post. Nikola Čumić then had a great opportunity in the 61st minute, followed by Kojzek, while the Spanish side spent most of the match defending and trying to run down the clock.

Partizan's players continued to put pressure on their opponents, pushing them deep into their own penalty area, but the final pass was missing. The one-goal victory was not enough to force extra time or secure qualification for the next round.

Nevertheless, the effort shown by Saša Ilić's team throughout their European campaign, in which they suffered just one defeat — the result that ultimately cost them qualification — was appreciated by the supporters. Long after the final whistle, the fans remained in the stadium, chanting and thanking the players for their fighting spirit and determination.
