Partizan won Spartak 1-0 with a single goal of the game scored by young forward Bazdar. It was great couple of weeks for 20-year-old as he also made a Serbia national team debut during the international break.
We spoke to Bazdar after the game.
This was an important goal for Partizan and yourself too. You had number of opportunities last time around and you got rewarded tonight. How much this goal means to you confidence-wise?
“Most importantly, the team won. I`m glad I was the one to score. As a forward, I want to score a goal or two in each game and I would love to score from each opportunity I get in a game. We move forward now, looking towards Vozdovac away where we hope to win three more points, something we hope for regarding each game we play”, said Bazdar.
Did you have a pressure after number of opportunities missed before or you learned, playing for Partizan, how you have to be persistent and to keep following your dreams?
“Sometimes you score, sometimes you miss, it`s all part of the package. Keeper can make a save as well and then everyone praises him, that`s all normal and expected”.
You received a deserved national team call-up and made you debut in a friendly against Cyprus. How much it means to you?
“It`s a dream come true. Until recently, I watched all these players on TV and now I`m their teammate. The feeling is incredible”.
You also met some of the former Partizan players, and your former Partizan teammate Sasa Zdjelar. Did you get a support from them?
“Yes, they all supported me – Lukic, Zivkovic, Milenkovic, Pavlovic..I`m glad they were there for me to support me”.
More tough games coming up, Vozdovac away on Wednesday. What are your expectations?
“What matters is that we won tonight and we`ll take it game by game now. It`s Vozdovac next in line and we`ll go there to win. We want to beat everyone, all the way”, said Samed Bazdar.
