FK Rudar Prijedor and FK Partizan sign cooperation deal

10 Jun 2024 NEWS

FK Rudar Prijedor and FK Partizan signed a cooperation deal today involving exchange and support at all levels, from work with kids and youth football schools up to the football camps and education events staging.

FK Rudar representatives – Board Vice-President Zoran Sormaz, Club Director Milan Despotovic, Club Secretary Petar Krajisnik and board member Nemanja Vujkovic – are taking part in First All-Serbian Assembly event, entitled “One Nation, One Assembly – Serbia and Republic of Srpska” also attended by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Republic of Srpska President Milorad Dodik as well as number of high officials from both Serbia and Srpska, along with Serb representatives from the region and Serbian Ortodox Church dignitaries.

FK Partizan board member Dragan Trailovic spoke about this all-level cooperation agreement.

“We started one fantastic project back in 2019 and we had over hundred thousand kids from Republic of Srpska and North Macedonia attending Partizan games so far. On such basis, we came up with an excellent idea to sign business and technical cooperation deal with FK Rudar Prijedor. For the occasion, we played a friendly in Prijedor which was attended by around 10 thousand fans and our team represented our club in a best fashion. We know Republic of Srpska is going through tough times and that`s why we wanted to sign such deal today, involving exchange and transfers of players for the mutual benefit. We will also stage summer and winter youth camps, something Rudar showed interest long time ago. We hope this mutual desire will see the light of the day soon. We have great cooperation with Laktasi Municipality where we have our youth camp for eight years now. Cooperation with FK Rudar will also involve youth teams work with our youth coaches there to transfer their huge expertise. We are still among the best youth academies in Europe, both regarding our coaches and our players”, said Trajkovic.

Cooperation agreement was signed by FK Partizan General Director Milos Vazura and FK Rudar Prijedor Vice-President Zoran Sormaz.

“This day means a lot to us as we will improve our earlier agreement. FK Rudar is currently member of Republic of Srpska first division. In four years time, we will celebrate our club`s centenary and we want to become regular Premier League club over this period. Surely, we`ll have better chance to do it with help from our FK Partizan friends.

I have to underline this is truly a great day for Republic of Srpska and Republic of Serbia”, said Sormaz.

How much it means to you to be part of such big event, not the uniting one, as we are all united, but we are talking about first gathering of such type?

“I agree we are all united and this is the path towards final unity. To me personally, city of Prijedor, our football club and Republic of Srpska, this means a lot. Personally, it means a lot to me as I`m member of JSD Partizan since the 80s, since my childhood days. For the people who live on the other side of Drina river, this day represents great joy and pleasure”, said Sormaz.

Milos Vazura thanked Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic for his support for the club and All-Serbian Assembly initiative, underling the importance of today`s event for sport development, unity and mutual support of the Serbian brother nations.

“Partizan joined today`s Assembly organized by Republic of Srpska nad Republic of Serbia. I think this is a big day for both our football clubs. BY signing this agreement, we will make our ongoing cooperation official, two clubs will have even better ties and the cooperation will be on all levels – from helping youngsters getting to the senior team, down to marketing and all those activities of one football club. We are both thrilled to come up with this agreement”, said Milos Vazura.

One Nation, One Assembly – Serbia and Srpska will take place in Saint Sava Temple, Palace of Serbia, Topcider Guard House and Belgrade`s Republic Square, with visits of institutions of public and cultural importance involved.
