Belgrade, July 30
Partizan suffered another defeat in the hands of Dynamo Kyiv to lose 9-2 on agg over two legs of UEFA Champions League round 2 qualifier. Our team now moves to UEFA Europa League round 3 qualifier where they`ll lock horns with Swiss side Lugano.
Boss Stanojevic opted to play with three at the back and two wing-backs, giving Lazarevic and Jurcevic their Euro debuts.
Partizan threatened via set-pieces over the first 10 mins but away team weathered any possible early threat.
But, after one set-piece on 17, Dynamo started a counter-attack and helped by Partizan defensive blunder, Yarmolenko was allowed to score an easy opener.
Saldanha sent couple of headers over the bar in the first half and it was all about Brazilian forward early in the second, as he hit the post with his header soon after the restart and missed the target with another close range one few minutes later, after pinpoint crosses from Jurcevic and Goh respectively.
However, visitors doubled the lead on 65. Vanat beat the offside trap, entered the box where he was brought down by Markovic. Same player scored from the spot with neat and fierce strike into the left corner of the net, leaving keeper Jovanovic with no chance to save it although he guessed well where Vanat was going to send the ball.
Dynamo had more opportunities to extend the lead before the end of the game. Jovanovic made a nice diving save, visitors hit the crossbar from a close range clear-cut effort as well while Popov`s goal was disallowed due to a offside position.
Still, Dynamo made it three in stoppage time after a brilliant long through pass and easiest of the finishes for Karavaev.
Before hosting Lugano next Thursday, Partizan will play Zeleznicar Pancevo at home during the weekend as part of SSL round 3 fixtures.
