Partizan team captain, goalkeeper Aleksandar Jovanovic, attended latest edition of Partizan Podcast. 31-year-old expressed his pleasure with six-game winning streak achieved.
“At the club as Partizan, it`s all about results and we have them at the moment. We have six or seven matches more to play before winter break and we need to finish the job and then make further plans in accordance with all the current reforms going on within the club. I spoke to club executives and I can see their mind is football-oriented; their ambitions are high. Only time will tell, but the direction we are taking now looks really good”, said Jovanovic.
Fans were quite interested what happened between Jovanovic and TSC`s player Djakovac after he scored from the spot.
“I`m not proud of my reaction and I try to set an example to my teammates, to build respect with referees and opponent`s players. After the penalty-kick, I picked the ball but, at the same time, Djakovac started provoking and insulting me. Later on, Djakovac and TSC skipper Nemanja Petrovic apologized to me but I had my role in that chaotic moment in the game. I was over the line but respect should be there first and foremost. You can score against me, give me a stick but you have to draw a line somewhere. You cannot insult someone for no reason whatsoever and I will always be there to stand up for myself and the team”.
Partizan fans view Jovanovic as the team leader and I hope he`ll be here in the years to come. He himself revealed what his thoughts are on that particular matter.
“I plan to be in the football game for seven or eight more years. I take good care of my body and I`ll be here at Parizan as long as I`ll be able to help the club and make the difference. I don`t want to pressure myself or the club but I`ll be here as long as Partizan needs me”, said Aleksandar Jovanovic.
