22-year-old playmaker Milan Vukotic signed to Partizan from Buducnost Podgorica today. Young Montenegrin signed a four-and-a-half-year deal and will be wearing a shirt number 11.
“I`m Partizan fan from my childhood days and I`m glad I managed to arrive to the club I love. I had other offers in this transfer window but when I received a call from Predrag Mijatovic, nothing else mattered. You get this call once in your life and not everyone can play here, so I had no doubts about my move. I`ve come here with great desire to show how much I can do and to help the club achieve best results possible”, said Vukotic upon signing.
Now former Buducnost Podgorica player picked up Montenegrin top-tier best player award and he is aware playing for Partizan adds to the pressure. Moreover, when your surname is the same as the one of the legendary 70s Partizan player, Momcilo Vukotic, you know the burden is even bigger. However, Milan says he is not scared of challenges.
“Momcilo Vukotic is one of Partizan greats and he achieved lots of big things with this club. I`ll try to follow in his steps. I love to play under pressure, it pushes me forward, as I love being a winner and Partizan is a club where wins are always expected. Personally, I`m expected to assist and score goals and I`ll try to have good numbers”.
Vukotic picked up shirt number 11 and says it has no special meaning to him.
“It was a shirt available and I decided to go for it. There`s nothing to it, for me playing for such a big club as Partizan is good enough. I`ll do my best to meet the expectations and to achieve fine results with my new teammates.
I would also like to wish Happy New Year and Merry Christmas to all Partizan fans. They are the best in Europe, not only in Serbia. Let us all have successful year ahead of us”, said Milan Vukotic.
