After regular medicals and first mid-season break training sessions, Partizan youth teams will engage in more tests, staged at Advance Fitness Center.
These tests are supposed to raise the full Partizan Youth Academy level of work, as heard from Advance Fitness Director Marko Cirkovic and Partizan youths Strength and Conditioning Coach Jaroslav Imrek.
“This is valuable opportunity for us to do more precise analysis of their physical and physiological characteristics and to identify potential deficiencies. Based on this data, we can plan and adjust microcycles individually, so every player can reach their full potential. I have to underline it`s natural they all have certain aspects you need to work on, regardless of them being professional level players. Timely procedure and focus on corrective work are of paramount importance of player`s long-term advancement. I would also like to thank my colleagues from Advance Fitness for their support and their resources on our disposal, as well as Partizan coaching team on their cooperation and dedication, said Jaroslav Imrek.
Marko Cirkovic told us more about the tests themselves.
“For one part, we`ll do initial tests regarding valuation of muscle and body fat followed by a feet pressure distribution. That`s for us to see if there is a pressure on a left or right foot and how balanced it is. Afterwards, we need to see if the foot pressure is quality balanced, what is the quality of front part of the foot, thumb itself, as thumb is extremely important for football game motions. Next comes Tensiomyography, helping us to see imbalance in muscle groups development, hamstrings of both legs. Based on that, we can make a conclusion if there are potential problems or tendency of injury in the near future. We can also understand why certain injuries occur often. Based on our suggestions, early during the mid-season preps team coach can prevent these injuries occurring. Finally, we work on explosive strengths evaluation via Optjump system where we can see frontal and sagittal plane behavior of joints as well as movement frequency which allows us to view speed capabilities”.
Why are these tests important for any professional football club looking to be on a top level?
“I think every coach wants to have all players at his disposal, so he can work on tactics. For that to be achieved, players have to be ready for all demands and for dosed workload set by fitness coach. For players to be ready, we have to locate potential threats and problems regarding musle and tendon tissue. Our tests can show minor problems who can turn into major ones at some point. We need to underline that aim of every youth academy is to produce players, so workload at this stage, when the training is a bit increased, needs to be dosed well, so you don`t get muscle and tendon tissue injuries as this can restrain the player from developing at certain stage”.
Over the upcoming weeks, Partizan youths will play number of friendlies along with PR activations and lectures, with clear aim of making black-and-white family stronger, expecially our youths who are the future of the club.
