The experienced German striker joined the black-and-whites at their training camp in Antalya last night and completed his first training session with the team this morning.

He will wear the number 91 shirt, and upon arriving in Turkey he spoke to the club’s YouTube channel about his reasons for coming to Humska and his expectations in the black-and-white jersey.

Speaking about how familiar he is with Partizan and why he sees the club as the right next step in his career, Polter said he has known about the club for many years.

“I’ve known about Partizan for more than 15 years because my agent is a big Partizan fan, so I’m familiar with how the club operates and with the fact that everyone gives everything for the club. I’m a bit older than most of the guys in the team, so I know my role. I know how to fit my style of play into the team, and that’s what I want. I want to help everyone. I want to win trophies, and that’s the most important thing. I think Partizan is the right step for me.”

The new Partizan striker has already had the chance to experience the atmosphere created by the club’s supporters.

“I watched Partizan’s matches in Germany as well as in Belgrade, and it’s clear to me how much the fans mean to the club and the team. I watched many videos my agent sent me—they’re incredible. I can’t wait to step out in front of them, to win matches and trophies—that’s why I came here.”

Polter also spoke about his playing characteristics and the mentality he wants to bring to his new teammates.

“I’m a very physically strong player. I like to fight in every duel. I like to fight for my club and give everything on the pitch, and off it as well, because football starts off the pitch. We always have to be a good group and a real team, and I’m sure that exists here—you don’t sit top of the table otherwise. I’m really looking forward to it and can’t wait to give my all on the pitch and score goals. The most important thing is the winning mentality, because that’s my biggest strength. That’s what I want to bring and what I will bring to the pitch very soon.”
