Partizan were defeated by Crvena zvezda in the 24th round of the Serbian SuperLiga at the Rajko Mitić Stadium – 0–3 (0–1).

The players in white arguably deserved much more on this chilly evening than the final result suggests. The team coached by Nenad Stojaković enjoyed strong spells of play, particularly in the first half when they applied heavy pressure on the home side’s defensive line. From such an approach came a great chance in the 12th minute, but Vanja Dragojević was unable to beat the opposing goalkeeper.
All the effort and energy invested in midfield, where Partizan showed firmness and aggression, failed to be rewarded with a goal. Then, in the closing moments of the first half, a lapse in concentration led to an unfortunate concession. Carrying that setback into the second half proved difficult, and early after the restart experienced returnee Saša Zdjelar suffered a muscle injury and had to leave the pitch.

Those two moments shaped the remainder of the match, as did the situation in the 72nd minute with the score at 0–2. Milan Vukotić missed a penalty awarded after a VAR review, and although Andrej Kostić converted the rebound, the goal was disallowed following video review as the striker had entered the penalty area too early. Crvena zvezda then went on to extend their advantage before the final whistle.
