Partizan were defeated by OFK Beograd in the 25th round of the Mozzart Bet Serbian SuperLiga – 1–2 (1–1).
New head coach Damir Čakar started the match at Humska with as many as seven bonus (U21) players, and the opening against the “Romantičari” was very encouraging. The black-and-whites were in full control and took the lead in the 21st minute, when Andrej Kostić finished off an assist from Demba Seck.
At that point, everything suggested a positive outcome, but in the 44th minute, after several missed opportunities by Partizan, Milan Rodić struck from distance and beat Marko Milošević to level the score.
At halftime, Čakar introduced returning midfielder Ghayas Zahid, and later Bibars Natho entered the game as well. The two helped Partizan increase the pressure on their opponents. Chances piled up in front of goalkeeper Balša Popović, with the best falling to Zahid in the 76th minute, but the runners-up of Serbia were unable to convert.
And just as Rodić had equalized in the final moments of the first half, a similar scenario unfolded deep into stoppage time, when he struck again to secure all three points for OFK Beograd, sending them back to Karaburma.
