A warm welcome for Jeh: Cléo, Saldanha, Everton Luiz and Juca send messages to Partizan’s new striker
The arrival of Jeferson Marinho dos Santos, known as Jeh, at Partizan has not gone unnoticed among the Brazilians who once wore the black-and-white shirt and left a deep mark in Humska.
Partizan’s new striker received messages of support from Cléo, Matheus Saldanha, Everton Luiz and Juca – former Brazilian players of the Black-and-Whites who know very well the weight of the Partizan shirt and the special bond the club has with its supporters.
A special place among Partizan’s Brazilian players belongs to Cléo, full name Cleverson Gabriel Cordova, the striker who wrote his name permanently into the hearts of the black-and-white supporters. He made 67 official appearances for Partizan and scored 42 goals, finishing as the club’s top scorer in both the 2009/10 and 2010/11 seasons. His 2010/11 campaign is particularly remembered, as he scored 10 goals in European matches and was one of the key players in Partizan’s qualification for the UEFA Champions League group stage.
“Hello Jeferson, how are you? This is Cléo. I was a striker for Partizan Belgrade, that outstanding club. A club with fanatical, spectacular supporters – and one I support today. I wish you all the luck in the world and a lot of success there. I hope you fulfil your dreams there, just as I fulfilled mine. After playing for this club, I became a supporter, and you will feel that yourself. So I wish you all the luck in the world, may God bless you. I hope you will be as happy there as I was. Best regards,” said Cléo.
A special message also came from Matheus Saldanha, the Brazilian striker who left a strong goalscoring mark in the black-and-white shirt. He made 40 official appearances for Partizan and scored 21 goals, while finishing the 2023/24 season with 17 goals in the Serbian SuperLiga, as one of the competition’s top scorers. Like Jeh, he arrived in Humska as a Brazilian centre-forward, and he won over the supporters with his goals, energy and the emotion with which he wore the Partizan shirt.
“Hello my brother, Jeferson. I am sending you this message to wish you a lot of luck. You are going to a club that is in my heart. I hope you will be very happy there. You can be sure that the fans will welcome you warmly and take care of you. I will be supporting you and I hope you score many goals. I am with you. Best regards,” said Saldanha.
Everton Luiz joined Partizan in 2016 and quickly became one of the fans’ favourites thanks to his fighting spirit, energy and attitude towards the black-and-white shirt. With Partizan, he won the Serbian league title and two Serbian Cups, and is remembered as a player who approached every match with great emotion.
“Hello Jeferson, this is Everton Luiz. I wish you a lot of luck at Partizan. It is a huge club and its fans are passionate. I have great affection for the club and I was very happy there. I am sure you will be happy too, and that you will bring a lot of joy to the supporters,” said Everton Luiz.
A welcome message for Jeh also came from Juliano Roberto Antonello, better known as Juca, one of the Brazilians who left an important mark at Partizan. He arrived in Humska in 2007, was part of a successful black-and-white generation and won two domestic doubles with the club. The fans remember him for his strong character and dedication.
“Hello Jeferson, how are you? This is Juca. I am sending you this message to wish you a lot of luck and a lot of success. I hope you have an excellent season. This shirt carries great weight. It is a club for which I have great affection, because I had the opportunity to play there and be part of it. I hope you enjoy the wonderful atmosphere created by the supporters at the matches of this great club – our Partizan. I will be supporting you with all my heart and I wish you a great season. Best regards,” said Juca.
Brazilian players have always held a special place at Partizan, and the messages from Cléo, Saldanha, Everton Luiz and Juca represent a warm welcome for Jeh, who arrives in Humska with a strong desire to leave his own mark in the black-and-white shirt.
“I am very happy to have joined Partizan and to wear the black-and-white shirt. I know how passionate Partizan fans are and I cannot wait to feel their support. I believe we have a successful season ahead of us and that, together, we can achieve great things,” said Jeh.
