Partizan suffered one of the biggest European defeats in the club`s history by losing to Danes Nordsjaelland 5-0 away in a ECL play-off first leg fixture.
Boss Igor Duljaj was short of suspended Kristijan Belic and while his energy was missed, there was no excuse for an appalling performance from the rest of the boys, keeper Jovanovic excluded.
It didn`t look that bad in the opening 10 minutes. Home side did impose the pace but apart from two corner-kicks, one on each side, and 20m attempt on target from Menig nothing significant happened until defensive Partizan error led to a brilliant angled shot into the right corner of the net from left-back Frese.
Nordsjaelland kept dominating possession but didn`t threaten that much nor did Partizan with occasional attacks. Good home side opportunities turned out offsides.
Two mins from half-time, clumsy handball from Antic led to a penalty-kick for Nordsjaelland, converted by Ingvarsten.
Partizan did start bright after the break but two opportunities for Saldanha and two long-range attempts from Stojkovic came to nothing.
On the hour, injured Menig had to make way for Kalulu and Duljaj also introduced Bazdar for Kanoute.
Soon after, Diomande missed great opportunity for hosts while Ilic headed the ball wide on the other side.
Partizan conceded another penalty-kick on 67, this time after handball from Scekic. Invgarsten did the job from the spot once again.
Things were to turn from bad to worse on 73 when Villadsen scored from close range and finally, Ilic scored an own goal two mins from time with keeper Jovanovic making a number of saves in the second half to prevent even worse final score for our team.
Partizan hosts Javor on Sunday followed by next Thursday`s ECL home return leg against Nordsjaelland.
