Ibrahim Zubairu, fourth Partizan summer signing, penned a four-year deal with the club. 20-year-old Ghanian plays as a winger and he is more than familiar with Serbian football as he made 36 apps for second-tier Jedinstvo Ub last season, scoring 13 goals and assisting 7 times.
He will join his new teammate`s training upon their return from Slovenia camp and will also travel with the club to Moscow tournament beginning of July.
Zubairu spoke to Partizan website upon signing.
Welcome to Partizan! How do you feel considering you`ve signed for a nig club with rich football tradition?
“Thanks a lot! This is a dream come true for me and I hardly express my feelings with words. Partizan is the best club in the country and I`m more than thrilled to wear black-and-white shirt and play in front of incredible fans”, said Zubairu.
You had some fine stats last season. How do you see yourself in Partizan this season?
“I always work hard as a team player, wherever I am. I came here to work and help this club win trophies. I would like my contribution on the field to speak for me, not my words and promises”.
How would you describe yourself as a player, what are your best features?
“I`m versatile player and my coach can always have more options on the field with me. I can play left and right wing as well as attacking midfielder position. I create opportunities and score goals too. You can see that from my stats in Ghana Premier League as well as at Jedinstvo Ub”.
Did you follow Partizan games previously? Do you look forward to CL qualifiers?
“I follow Partizan since the day I arrived to Serbia. I watched Partizan and I love atmosphere during the matches. Champions League is a dream of every young player, so I want to play it too. But, you can only play it if you win domestic championship”.
What`s your message to the fans?
“Partizan fans are the best in the country and I`m here to be part of this family. I adore them”.
