Partizan's players were defeated by Novi Pazar in the 34th round of the Mozzart Bet Serbian SuperLiga – 2:1 (1:0).

Coach Srdjan Blagojevic's side didn't play as poorly as the final score might suggest. The Black and Whites had several clear chances, including one by Ognjen Ugresic while the score was still 0:0. Later, the home team’s goalkeeper Zeljko Samcovic turned into the hero with his key saves.

Partizan lacked a bit of luck on this Sunday afternoon in Novi Pazar—not just in attack, but also in defense. The second goal for Novi Pazar came from a string of unfortunate events: Adem Ljajic sent a cross into the six-yard box, keeper Aleksandar Jovanovic punched it away poorly, and it rebounded off Dusan Jovanovic into the net.

That happened five minutes into the second half, after the home team had already taken the lead through John Mary a minute before halftime.

Partizan had more possession and took more shots than their opponent, but only Mihajlo Ilic managed to beat Samcovic in the 87th minute. The Novi Pazar keeper made seven successful saves by the end of the match. Additionally, coach Srdjan Blagojevic and his staff opted to give a chance to many young players—six of whom started the match—while Paco Furer also made a later appearance.

Minute of Silence in Novi Pazar

The match in Novi Pazar began with a minute of silence in memory of all those who tragically lost their lives two years ago in the shootings at "Vladislav Ribnikar" Primary School in Belgrade, and in the villages of Malo Orasje and Dubona.
