Korean winger Young-jun Goh arrived to Partizan in January 2024, during the club`s winter mid-season preps.
In three months with the club so far, Goh adapted to life in Belgrade, got to love Partizan fans and says he enjoys in the club where he is yet to show his best qualities.
22-year-old spoke to club`s YouTube channel on his arrival to Partizan, football itself and life in Belgrade.
It`s been almost three months since your arrival to Belgrade. What did you know and thought about Serbia back then and how do you view Belgrade and Partizan today?
“Before my arrival to Belgrade, I watched videos of Partizan fans and I knew how passionate they are. I wanted to come to Belgrade as soon as possible and since my arrival fans give me strength. I live city of Belgrade very much, people are very nice”.
Few weeks ago, your parents visited Belgrade. How did they like the city and the mood surrounding it?
“My parents were first time abroad when they came here. My older sister travels a lot and she liked Belgrade very much. She said it`s a really nice city”.
You travel and play with the club all over Serbia. What are your views on Serbian football scene?
“My parents and family watch the games I play regularly. I find it interesting and the league itself is big. Also, some stadiums are not in the best shape but I can feel long tradition here”.
You were part of the video Grupa JNA band made for the club. It seems you enjoy in fan`s energy?
“Sometimes I hear those songs on the stadium. I don`t understand them but I feel the energy. Although I don`t speak the language I found it interesting, I enjoyed participating in a video and I believe it`s a good thing”.
Do you know any Serbian words?
“Good morning, good afternoon, thank you, hi, good evening”.
You had a chance to try Serbian food at Partizan training centre. How do you like it?
“I eat Serbian food very often and I like it very much. Therefore, food regarding, I have no problems whatsoever”.
Did you try Serbian Sarma or Kebab?
“I`m hearing about this dishes for the first time but I`ll have to try it”.
You ordered a lot of Partizan shirts. Is it for your fans in Korea or for the people living here?
“I ordered around ten shirts and many people ask for it. I gifted those to my family and friends.
Who do you socialize with out of your teammates?
“I`m quite close to Leo (Owusu) and Castillo. All the older players, those who were already there, are very kind. Although I don`t speak English or Serbian they want to engage in conversation with me”.
Where do you see yourself now and by the end of the season?
“I`m not playing bad now but I want to score as many goals and assists and to help my team. I`ll do my best”.
