Fan`s favourite, Partizan forward Nemanja Nikolic, attended latest edition of Partizan Podcast. His goal celebration in a game against Tekstilac triggered lots of emotions among Partizan aficionados and 32-year-old revealed how he came up with this idea.
“Few of my teammates and close friends knew what I was planning to do. As someone always wanted to celebrate next to packed South stand, I felt a need to do it and honour our fans as if they were there. I know the mood around the club is bad, lots of things has happened but with arrival of the new management, I hope everything will change for the better. My desire is to see us play in front of packed South stand, as it`s fitting for our great club, the biggest club in the world for me”, said Nikolic.
There was lots of symbolism in Nikolic`s celebration and now, when the sun is finally shining above Humska Rd., when fans are rushing to buy tickets for the next game, Partizan forward has a message for them.
“It will be warm and sunny over Humska Rd., as the chant goes. I`s like to invite fans to come to the game tomorrow in great numbers. It`s hard when you come out of the tunnel as Partizan player and there`s very few fans on the stands. I often imagine packed stands, celebrations, everyone jumping up and down as one, while we win it for them down on the green”.
Finally, Nikolic revealed what is the mood around the squad after die-hards announced their return to Humska Rd.
“We all think about it, there`s lots of communication around the squad, foreign players ask questions too but I guess we`ll all feel it tomorrow just before 4pm. I believe we`ll have more feel for each other in the near future and many players will get to realize what Partizan actually is”, said Nemanj Nikolic.
