Just before Saturday`s kick-off, Partizan forward Nemanja Nikolic was presented with a special club shirt number 100 while he marked his jubilee appearance with a 3rd minute assist and 36th minute goal, his 20th for the club.
Nikolic will remember this Saturday`s game for the rest of his life, especially as his family is going through tough period.
“We won on my jubilee game, I scored a goal and assist so I can be pleased with it. I missed everything one could miss against Spartak and I think I was to fault the most we didn`t win that game. This win is for my brother-in-law who lost his mother recently and it was painful for the whole family”, said Nikolic.
32-year-old forward revealed he spoke to coach Blagojevic ahead of the OFK Beograd game and received full support from the boss.
“Boss knows I was really annoyed about all the missed opportunities against Spartak, as well as during winter preps friendlies, but he supported me, saying that I should channel all my energy in the positive direction. I thanked boss on it and I can only pay the club and Blagojevic back with a good performances”.
Over his 100 games for the club, Nikolic had many good performances but one from 2019 has a special significance for him.
“It was 159th edition of Eternal derby and the goal I scored. So far, I scored 20 goals for Partizan and achieved 20 more assists, although I would love to have at least 10 more of each, but I might reach that number. I have one more dream i need to achieve with the club, God willing I`ll win the title with Partizan”, said Nemanja Nikolic.
