Partizan beat TSC 2-1 away with opener being scored by forward Djordje Jovanovic on 7 while Natcho doubled the lead from the spot 11 mins later,
We spoke to Djordje Jovanovic after the game.
“I had good opportunity before the opener but ref waved it offside. I think we started the game well, considering it was our third game in seven days and players being a bit fatigued. It was hard, we struggled at certain moments but I think we were good enough to win it”, said 25-year-old.
Boss Savo Milosevic keeps underlining team`s character. Do you think team`s form picks up with each new game?
“I think we are getting better. After a tough spell, it was important we win some games on our character. I believe everyone feels better now, there`s more confidence around and that`s what matters the most”.
There`s a saying that 2-0 lead is the most dangerous one. It looked like your performance dropped down a bit in the second half.
“TSC is a good side, they were at home and they play European competition for a reason. TSC scored from the spot to get back into the game, they had their opportunities but we showed stability and weathered their attacks until the end of the game”.
Partizan fans missed this game in honour of victims of the tragic Novi Sad event. We are home to Radnicki 1923 next.
“They were not there for the obvious reasons and I support their decision. We are eagerly awaiting next league game, we are home again and we hope fans will show up in even greater numbers”, said Djordje Jovanovic.
Partizan is home to Radnicki 1923 for a SSL round 15 match on Sunday, Nov 9.
