Partizan failed to advance to the Round of 16 of the Mozzart Bet Serbian Cup after losing 2–0 (1–0) to Macva in Sabac.
Coach Srdjan Blagojevic made several changes to the lineup, giving an opportunity to players who had not featured much so far. Despite the result, Partizan’s performance was not as poor as the scoreline suggests. Early in the game, Andrej Kostic had a clear chance to give his team the lead at 0–0, while later Demba Sek also missed a promising opportunity to equalize before halftime.
The best chance of the match came in the 69th minute, when Bibars Natho failed to score from only a few meters, missing an open goal. Macva capitalized on those mistakes.
In the 15th minute, Mitar Ergelas managed to beat Milos Krunic with a deflected shot to open the scoring, and later Marko Nikolic doubled the lead midway through the second half.
After that, Macva completely closed down the game, defending deep inside their own penalty area. Despite all efforts, Partizan’s players could not find a way through the compact home defense and were eliminated from the competition.
