Marko Zivkovic back from long-term injury

12 Jan 2025 NEWS

Partizan right-back Marko Zivkovic spent six months on the sidelines after suffering ACL injury but he is back in training now, joining his teammates at the Antalya winter training camp. 30-year-old spoke to the Partizan website on his recovery and future plans.

It was quite a tough period for me. After I picked up this injury, my first thought was how I`m going to be off the pitch for six months and it created a problem in my head. However, once the recovery started, everything picked up pace and looked so much easier and here I am, back on the field. I`ll need two more week to adapt, get the right pace, get into tackles and if everything goes right, I`ll be ready for the season`s restart”, said Marko Zivkovic.

Partizan had its own tough period after being eliminated from European qualifiers and entering a poor spell of results domestically. But, after management late in the year 2024, hope for better days is there.

It wasn`t easy watching it all, from European exit down to loss of confidence but it`s behind us now and we believe things will get better now. I was there when we played Cukaricki in front of packed stands. It was a beautiful sight, something we were lacking for the past few years. Results start picking up as well and it`s all down to fan`s support”.

Partizan will restart domestic season week upon return from Antalya training camp. Zivkovic believes it`s time Partizan lifts trophies again.

Regarding working conditions in Antalya, it`s all top-notch. I don`t recall training pitches being so good in the past. We have all conditions needed to do all our work and get ready for the rest of the season. Our aim is to win all remaining games and then we`ll see where we stand and what we are about. Partizan is always after trophies but it seems it`s realistic to talk about winning national cup at the moment. We are what we are and want to give some joy to our fans at the end of the season”, said Zivkovic.
