Danko Lazovic, member of the FK Partizan Task Force Group in charge of sporting matters alongside Predrag Mijatovic, attended latest edition of Partizan Interview show. He is very pleased with a progress made over the three months since the new management took over the club.
“When I entered the club on 22nd of October, I never expected we would be able to secure this level of mid-season preps and that one big win to start with. We also successfully passed UEFA monitoring on 15th of January. I`m very pleased with the direction we are taking now. It`s not easy, but we do our best to improve things and I`m sure we`ll succeed”, said Danko Lazovic.
New signing is something Partizan fans are always interested in.
“Whatever we do, we will be judged on Saturday when the season restarts. We are aware Partizan needs new players and we work on it but we can`t engage in lavish spending, not now or in the near future. Of course, we will get new signings but our fans need to be aware we are not going to make a blast on a transfer market. Hopefully, those days will come in the future but it`s important we stabilize the club until the end of the season, to do our club dealings in a normal fashion and make a step forward in transfer windows ahead of us. The most important thing now is another European monitoring scheduled for 31st of March. After that, we can think about four-year plan, even a longer-term one, maybe”.
Lazovic underlined what changes within the club pleased him the most.
“Great things happened when it comes to club organization, that`s where we made the biggest step forward. Another segment is our infrastructure. After 40 or 50 years, Partizan dressing rooms will get the look they deserve. Our training centre will shine again and I`m really proud of 24 apartments we are going to build for our youths. By the end of this year, Partizan will look much better in infrastructural and organizational terms. We also need a lot of luck to stabilize our finances. Whatever happens, if this management stays or new one takes over, I`m sure things will be better here”.
New boss Srdjan Blagojevic has a full support from the club management.
“We have full faith in Blagojevic and his team. They need time and we are aware it`s not going to be easy for them. There`s never enough time when you are at Partizan and it`s all about weekend and how you play the game. I`m realistic enough to be aware of the current matters, roster and everything else. As for me, I have no doubts we will have our ups and downs but Partizan will do everything planned. We are o a right path and it`s the first time both Partizan and public agree what this club needs to do – to stabilize things”.
Lazovic also called on Partizan fans support.
“Partizan supporter needs to recognize the moment. Not for me, Mijatovic or Ljajic, but for Partizan. We will be here and we will leave at some point. Club and players need support for many reasons as Partizan is going through tough period and support from the fans can ease the things for everyone”.
Danko Lazovic is Partizan academy graduate. He played for the club in three spells but he admits his new role is the toughest one by far.
“It was so much easier when I was a player but his role is closer to my heart, especially with Partizan being in this situation. Of course, I had my doubts before I took this role, as every member of the new management had. You always ask yourself do you need this now as you have a fine life without much stress at the moment. But, at the end of the day, you are proud when things move forward by an inch even, as you know it`s done for the good of this club and that something will recognize it in the future”, said Danko Lazovic.
