After a long run of eight games in European and domestic competition without a win, Partizan picked up three points away to Mladost Lucani, beating them 3-1 with goals from Ilic on 12, D Jovanovic (26) and Kovac (57).
We spoke to two of the three goalscorers after the game, starting with Djordje Jovanovic.
“Tough times are behind us. Most importantly, we managed to win and play well, especially in the first half. It matters when you have many players in a good mood to play. As a result, we`ll score more goals, as we did today. We had Ilic and Kovac today, I hope someone else will get on a scoresheet next time around. Partizan is a huge club and we must keep winning even when we are in a lots of trouble”, said Djordje Jovanovic.
Stefan Kovac scored Partizan third goal of the day.
“To be honest, I`m over the moon! This is my first in Partizan shirt and I hope this is just a start of a winning run. There you go – after a good performance from everyone around, I managed to score and assist”, said Kovac.
It must be hard to pick up after the derby defeat and your handball that led to visitor`s penalty-kick?
“Yes, I gave them the penalty away but that`s football game for you. I made amends today. I wish it was different in a derby game, it could have been, but we have to look forward now. For me, it`s important to do my best in every game, to be dead tired after it. That`s when I get my piece of mind. It was hard to pick up after the derby defeat but we are professionals and we move on step by step”.
Your younger brother is taking your steps, he`s part of Teleoptik babes.
“As for my brother, I would like him to enjoy his game as he is very young. I hope he`ll have a big career and I`ll be there to advice him naturally”.
